UPVC DOORS

Door locks come in various styles and are generally known as multi-point locks or MPLs. The number of locking points, vary from lock to lock. Thermal movement associated with UPVC doors, can cause locking mechanisms to become jammed due to the large number of keeps fitted. In the majority of cases the door may only require re-towing and heeling to rectify the problem, however if a new lock is required, this will fall into two main categories

The euro-cylinder

The Multi-point Lock

If you have lost your keys, the door has jammed or want a new lock then it is only the euro-cylinder that will need to be replaced. Generally this will not need replacing if the multi-point lock is broken or faulty

If the multi-point lock is broken or faulty and needs replacing then due to the array of locks fitted to these doors the chances of our locksmiths having a replacement lock on their van is remote. A second visit is normally required once the type of lock has been identified following the first visit. Normally within 48 hours

We also supply and fit all types and colours of handles for UPVC doors and windonws.

UPVC WINDOWS
There are a number of hardware parts that can fail on UPVC windows, which we can repair or replace these are

Espagnolette

Friction stays

Handles

Espagnolette locking incorporates a gearbox system, these vary from window system to window system. it is this part of the lock which invariably fails. Our locksmiths carry the most commonly fitted locks on their vans, so in most cases can replace these on a first visit. If a second visit is required we will identify parts and return within 24 hours.

Friction stays are the component parts which hold the window open. When these fail it causes the window to jam or become difficult or impossible to open. This is particularly dangerous in bedrooms where escape may be required in the event of fire. Our locksmiths carry the most commonly used friction stays on their vans so can replace faulty or broken hinges on our first visit. If not we will be back within 24 hours with the correct parts to complete the work.

Handles can come under the heading of cockspur, inline espagnolette and cranked espagnolette. These may or may not have a key locking facility. Our locksmiths carry the most commonly used handles and in m most cases can repair on site or replace this on our first visit.
